What is the Creative Lagos Training Program?

The Creative Training Program is an initiative designed to equip participants with industry-relevant skills in areas such as acting for film and tv, animation, content creation, editing, fashion, and more.

Who can apply?

The program is open to Lagos residents who are passionate about the creative industry and eager to build or enhance their skills. Participants must meet the eligibility requirements, including proof of residency (e.g., LASRRA ID for Lagos-based programs).

How do I apply?

Is there a fee to participate?

No. The training is free for all selected participants, courtesy of our sponsors and partners. However, slots are limited, so early application is encouraged.

How long does the training last?

The program runs for 3 months. Each course combines theoretical and hands-on sessions.

Is the training virtual or physical?

We offer physical training. Participants will be informed of any changes if there is.

Will I receive a certificate?

Yes. Participants who successfully complete the training and meet the attendance requirements will receive a certificate of completion.

Are there post-training opportunities?

Yes. Participants may gain access to internship opportunities, mentoring sessions, portfolio reviews, and career support through our partner network.

Can I apply if I’m a student or currently employed?

Yes! As long as you can commit to the training schedule, students and working professionals are welcome to apply.

Do I need previous experience to join the training?

No prior experience is required. The program is designed for both beginners and those looking to refine their skills.

Can I apply for more than one course?

You can indicate interest in multiple courses during registration, but you will be selected for only one track to ensure focused learning.

Will training materials be provided?

Yes, essential materials and resources will be provided at no cost.

What if I miss a class during the training?

Participants are expected to maintain at least 80% attendance to qualify for certification. Repeated absences may lead to disqualification.

How will I know if I’ve been selected?

Selected applicants will receive an email and SMS notification with further instructions, including onboarding details and class schedules.

Can non-residents of Ikorodu apply?

This edition prioritizes Ikorodu residents. Non-residents may apply for subsequent editions when their LGA is being hosted.

Are there age restrictions?

Applicants must be 18 years and above. There is no maximum age limit, as long as you’re passionate and able to commit.

Is this a one-time opportunity?

Creative Lagos is a state-wide ongoing initiative, but each LGA edition will only happen once a year. We encourage interested residents to apply early and make the most of this unique opportunity.

What if I don’t have a LASRRA ID yet?

You’ll need a valid LASRRA ID to qualify. If you don’t have one, visit the nearest LASRRA registration center or register online at www.lagosresidents.gov.ng before the application deadline.

Can I reapply if I wasn't selected in the previous edition?

Yes, you can reapply. Each edition is a fresh opportunity, and previous applicants are encouraged to try again.

Can I volunteer or mentor for the program instead of participating?

Absolutely. If you’re an experienced creative professional, you can apply to volunteer or mentor through the official website or by contacting the program coordinators.

Can I attend just specific classes that interest me?

No. To ensure full understanding and certification, all participants must commit to the entire course schedule of their selected track.

Will my certificate be recognized by industry employers?

Yes. The certificate is issued by Del-York Creative Academy in collaboration with Lagos State Government.

Can I document or film the training experience for my vlog or portfolio?

Yes—but you must obtain prior permission from facilitators and organizers. Respect for privacy and intellectual property rights is required at all times.
